Wait a sec, do not run off singing yet.  You must make darn sure that you requisite the skills vital for any singer.  most importantly you need to sing in harmony with your tune.  You need to be able to project and balance your voice.  it helps to make your words understandable, unless you singing for a rock band.  Even then some of your words need to be understandable.  While learning how to sing you need to figure out your style.  A good singer creates a unique style by experimentation with their voice instead of impersonating other popular singers.

One of the most important factors of your success will be the sacrifices you make to become a famous singer.  You must have perseverance and patience to get to that point when you see your name printed on a cd.  You will most likely have to start at the bottom, but if you take every opportunity in stride it will ultimately pay off.
