Do you dream of being a hot and happening actor? With the right attitude you may be an instant hit with your friends, but will that be enough to get you on the road to becoming a famous actor. Before you consider acting do you know that you will most likely be required to be literate and conversant in several different languages. This enables actors to take the identity of any character. Do not get me wrong though, you could know every language, but if you not passionate about acting it will show on screen. One thing is for sure though, only the best and most passionate actor will become famous, so make sure you have the mindset to overcome any obstacle. If you plan on getting work through agents, you need to make sure you have your act together and look professional in your approach. It is best to present yourself in a manner that you think best suits your personality and style. Do not go to an agent until you have at least a little experience. They will not even consider you and you could hurt your future opportunities. To help yourself in getting experience you need to take an initiative and join a local theatre. If you are in a small town like me, you would have to sacrifice time in order to ravel to a bigger town or even move. This exposure will give you a good image in the public eye once you start performing for the paying public. If you are lucky there may even be an agent in the audience that will find you. You just have to put yourself out there to market your acting talent to the world. An actor is a person who is different as an actor, simply this means that he/she is a person who can portray a variety of characters on screen. You need to study your character and develop every bit on it. Acting school can help you to better display different traits of characters. Acting school is very important since it grooms the actor to become successful by exposing you to all the various technical aspects you need to capture full persona of every character you become. This helps you to have your acting skills by getting criticised by your talented teachers and professors. It will be up to you to learn the tactic's needed to consistently get work. You will need a wide range of skills and talents. you will be required to coordinate with the director, co-actors and the rest of the crew members. you need to feel at ease with them in order to get the best performance. If you ever hear people discussing hidden agenda of acting, do not think they are being mean. They are simply discussing a trait an actor hides from the outside world because of some incident in their past. It will take time, but over time you will master the entire process of acting. Before you know it, it will come to you naturally. Once you get real life experience in theatre you should be well equipped with the technicalities of acting. In theatre a minor mistake will be noticed by the audience live giving you instant feed back. Where in cinema is recorded and you are able to make mistakes and not worry about the reaction the audience will have. This is why many of the best actors in the world go back to theatre once they have reached their fame. By going to theatre they can try new things and improve old ones to impress their fans. |
