If you are male you will need to come out of your shell.  You see modeling is for females, males and everything in between.  Do not bring yourself down by thinking you have to have muscle's that resemble super human physique's.  The field of modeling has changed tremendously since the beginning.  This has opened up new genres, styles and looks with more being added all the time.  Maybe you have that next new style consumers are thriving for.  You just never know in the for ever changing world.

Most of all to be successful in such a thriving profession you have to have a high level of self-confidence and ambition.  You will have to work meticulously to be transformed in to a popular known face.  Watch out along the way you do not want to get tied up with an agency that does not handle or treat their talent honestly and respectfully.  A good agency will not require you to supply money to promote you, but by promoting you they will earn their money once you get a employer.

When it comes to open calls don’t talk yourself out of going.  Especially if you have a desire at all for modeling.  Going to an open call is just as good as open houses where interested models are invited to be interviewed.  You should dress in some kind of clothing that will exhibit your body type and features.  This is your time to impress the representatives at the agency of your choice.
